Overview

Atlas Swift is a family-run wine business founded by winemaker Martin Smith and his wife Welma Smith, combining international experience across regions including Napa Valley, Europe and South Africa. The project reflects a hands-on, small-scale approach, with a focus on crafting wines that express place while remaining accessible and contemporary.

The philosophy centres on thoughtful farming and careful fruit selection, working with vineyard sites suited to varieties such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaking is gentle and minimally interventionist, designed to preserve fruit integrity and terroir character. The result is a focused portfolio that balances structure, clarity and drinkability, underpinned by the founders’ combined expertise in winemaking, hospitality and wine education.
