Xavier Milhade

Xavier Milhade — Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux

Right Bank Bordeaux with depth, structure and authenticity.

Overview

Xavier Milhade represents a multi-generational family story in Bordeaux, with roots in the Right Bank dating back to 1938. The family oversees several estates including Château Recougne and Château Boutisse, with vineyards located across Bordeaux Supérieur and Saint-Émilion appellations. Today, the next generation plays an active role, bringing renewed energy and focus to both vineyard and cellar.

The vineyards are predominantly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and are situated on clay-limestone soils that are ideal for producing structured yet approachable wines. Increasing emphasis is placed on sustainable practices, with HVE certification and ongoing improvements in vineyard management. The wines are defined by expressive fruit, balance and authenticity, offering a modern interpretation of classic Right Bank Bordeaux.
