Champagne Paul Bara
Champagne Paul Bara – Bouzy, Champagne
Overview
The Bara family’s history in Champagne dates back to the 19th century, with the house formally established in Bouzy in 1833. Now in its seventh generation under the leadership of Chantale Bara, the estate is a classic récoltant-manipulant (grower-producer), working exclusively with its own vineyards in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy.
With around 11 hectares planted largely to Pinot Noir on chalk-rich soils, the wines are rich, structured and expressive of Bouzy’s powerful terroir. Viticulture prioritises traditional methods and low intervention, while winemaking often blocks malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness. The style is classic and full-bodied, combining depth with precision, particularly in flagship cuvées such as Special Club.
