L’Ecole No. 41
L’Ecole No. 41 – Columbia Valley, Washington
Overview
L’Ecole No. 41 was founded in 1983 by Baker and Jean Ferguson, becoming the third winery established in Walla Walla and a pioneer of the region’s development. The winery is housed in a historic Frenchtown schoolhouse, which gives the estate its identity and label imagery. Leadership passed to the second generation in 1989 when Marty Clubb and Megan Ferguson Clubb took control, transforming it into one of Washington State’s most respected producers.
Sourcing fruit from top vineyards such as Seven Hills and Ferguson Vineyard, the estate focuses on Bordeaux varietals grown on loess and basalt-derived soils. Marty Clubb, managing winemaker, works closely with growers across the Columbia Valley, emphasising precision viticulture and balanced ripeness. The wines are structured, age-worthy and distinctly Walla Walla in style, blending power with elegance.
